Appalachian Community Bank, a $500 million bank with four branches in three North Georgia counties, had been offering ACH services to its business customers through SBT's ACHAccess software since August of 2000. While ACHAccess met their business customers' needs, the client-server software was time-consuming to install at the customer's site and required users to deal with frustrating modem transmissions. In December 2003, Appalachian Bank began migrating its 12 business customers, which include a large telephone company in North Georgia, from ACHAccess to achbusiness.com.
